Promoter Apologises After Macy Gray Arrives Late And Says “Hello Sydney” At Perth Gig

UPDATE: Macy Gray Is Planning A 2018 Australian Tour, After That Perth Show Fail

ORIGINAL STORY: Macy Gray‘s tour promoter has been forced to apologise after she reportedly arrived two hours late and also said “Hello Sydney” to a Perth audience last night.

Gray was billed to, “perform her favourite tunes and then her favourite R&B tunes in a DJ set”.

Fans, however, were left disappointed after she only performed two songs and seemingly was also unaware what city she was in at Perth’s Astor Theatre.

Many have taken to the venue’s Facebook page to complain about the gig with one fan saying she was “disgusted”.

“What a debacle,” another fan wrote on the event page.

“She couldn’t line up her set, no interaction with the crowd, the original DJ was getting frustrated with her, she threw a tantrum till he helped her. Then she badly lip synched two songs and said “good night” and walked off the stage.”

The promoter TNT Presents later took to Facebook to apologise that the gig didn’t meet fans’ expectations writing, “Unfortunately as the promoter it is up to the artist to create their own show not ourselves.”

It follows on from a disastrous performance in Bali over the weekend. She took to the stage late, performed a ‘Happy Birthday’ song and was said to be playing a playlist off a laptop.

Gray later apologised that her performance was, “not up to my normal standards.”

She was due to play in Byron Bay tonight, however, that gig has been cancelled just hours before it was due to go down.

As Northern Star reports, she allegedly missed her flight from Western Australia which is the reason she’s had to cancel the show. That was set to be the final show of the tour.
