Red Hot Chili Peppers Are Releasing A New Single This Week And Our Ears Are Ready

When they haven’t been beekeeping, jamming with Pearl Jam or butchering slaying the hell out of the US national anthem, Red Hot Chili Peppers have been busy working on their 11th studio album.

And now we’re about to get our very first taste of the thing, with RHCP set to release their first new song since 2011’s I’m With You LP THIS FREAKIN’ WEEK!

Dubbed Dark Necessities, the hot new serving of Chili is set to drop this Thursday, US time.

The veteran funksters announced the news on Twitter, with Radio.com adding that more details about the single (and possibly the LP?) will be revealed following its premiere.

So far alls we know about the new Chilis record is that Danger Mouse produced it and Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich was behind the mixing desk.

It’s also the first Peppers’ release not to be helmed by legendary producer Rick Rubin since 1989’s Mother Milk.

RHCP have yet to debut any of their new songs live, so the nature of their imminent tune remains shrouded in mystery, at least for the moment.

Needless to say, we’re ready for them to give it away now.
