Rema and Shallipopi Share Video For New Song ‘Benin Boys’

Rema has shared his first new song of 2024: the Shallipopi collaboration with Benin Boys. Both artists hail from Benin City, and the song serves as an ode to their hometown.

The release comes with a fast-paced video directed by Director K.

Rema – ‘Benin Boys’

By the enormous popularity of his first studio album, “Rave & Roses”, Rema started gaining more significant recognition in the Nigerian music scene in 2022. His song “Calm Down” became very famous, most especially its remix with Selena Gomez, which got a lot of attention and helped him get a huge fan base.

The other rising star from Benin City, Shallipopi, features Rema on this energetic track, making some terrific, bouncy musicality. The video of the track titled ‘Benin Boys’ depicts the dynamic feel of the hometown, fast cuts, and lively scenes reflecting the song’s tempo and vibe.

This new release is pretty exciting for both artists and an indicator of both being a part of Benin City. Rema seems to be on a firm roll as he learns to build upon his oft-startling success, but equally interesting collaborations like this with Shallipopi really show the dense talent pool emanating from Nigeria in music.
