New Zealand readers, your New Year’s Eve plans have arrived. The organisers of Rhythm and Vines festival have announced their lineup for 2014, featuring Bastille, Netsky, Chet Faker, Danny Brown, Action Bronson, and many more who’ll be descending on the luscious Waiohika Estate.
UK chart-toppers Bastille will be heading over to New Zealand for the first time ever, bringing all six of the incredible singles from their 2013 debut, Bad Blood, including anthemic hit, Pompeii. The band’s headlining performance is sure to be one that R&V punters remember for a long time.
Joining Bastille at the top end of the bill is Netsky, who’ll be putting on a special live performance, backed by a full a band. Rhyme-slingers Danny Brown and Action Bronson will be giving the event some serious hip-hop cred, and there’ll be appearances from Just Blaze, Etc!Etc! Mø, and more.
As always, there’s a strong contingent of Aussies, with our favourite hirsute, downtempo impressionist, Chet Faker, set for the bill, as well as performances from Chet collaborator and electronic talent in his own right, Ta-ku, and Sydney psych-dance world-beaters Jagwar Ma.
Rhythm and Vines acts as a rite of passage for many New Zealanders and international visitors. As the first place in the world to see the sunrise, and with the addition of the famous Arcadia Afterburner stage, Rhythm and Vines offers a NYE festival experience unlike any other in the world.
This year’s early bird tickets sold out in record time and general public tickets will be limited to 20,000. Best of all, organisers aren’t done yet. There’s still more incredible international headliners and local acts set for the bill so stay tuned. Check below for all dates and ticketing details.
