Rihanna Set to Release Ninth Studio Album After Eight-Year Hiatus

Rihanna is preparing to release her ninth studio album, marking her first record in eight years. According to The Sun, an unnamed “well-placed industry insider” has revealed that the pop star, 36, is finally ready to unveil new music.

The source indicated that Rihanna had recorded and discarded an entire album’s worth of material before settling on her current project. “It’s been a running joke how long Rihanna’s ninth album has taken to be released, but finally the wait is almost over,” the insider said.

Criticism For Rihanna Ninth Album

Rihanna, known for her genre-blending style, experimented with various sounds, including pop, reggae, and hip-hop, before deciding on the final direction for the album. The insider mentioned that her desire for a fresh sound and her current life circumstances led to scrapping previous work.

Rihanna’s last album, Anti, was released in 2016. Since then, she has focused on her family and business ventures. She welcomed her first child, RZA, with partner A$AP Rocky in May 2022, followed by their daughter, Riot Rose, in August 2023. In addition to her music career, Rihanna has built a significant net worth through her successful Fenty cosmetics and Savage X Fenty lingerie lines.
