Ruel has delivered a stunning rendition of Lenny Kravitz’s ‘It Ain’t Over ‘Til It’s Over’ for triple j’s Like A Version. It’s a super funky, super fun cover.
They’ve played around with the chords and drum patterns, keeping the best bits of the song. There’s a Bee Gees melody in one of Lenny’s solos too.
“We just kept putting stuff in until we stopped and were like, ‘Okay that’s enough, this is good,'” the ‘Dazed and Confused’ singer explains.
We also received ‘Distance’, taken from last year’s EP Bright Lights, Red Eyes.
It’s not Ruel’s first foray in the Like A Version studio (though the studio has technically changed since he was last there). He featured on M-Phazes’ 2017 Like A Version when he was just 14-years-old. They covered Jack Garrett’s ‘Weathered’.
