Salt N Pepa Pull Out Of Aussie Festival Lineup Days After Announce

American hip-hop outfit Salt N Pepa have screwed the shaker on their upcoming performance at Melbourne’s brand new boutique music festival The Bureau, just two days after being announced on the inaugural bill.

The iconic duo of Cheryl James and Sandra Denton were second-billed under ‘the screaming eagle of soul’ Charles Bradley on an impressive lineup that also features homegrown talents Saskwatch, Asta and Andy Bull, but have had their names officially scratched off, as of today.

According to a statement we received from the festival’s PR department, Salt N Pepa “were excited to be involved in the festival, however they were not able to secure any other gigs while they were in Australia, so didn’t feel like it would be worth there [sic] while”.

Salt N Pepa were only in town at the start of this year for Field Day 2015. And for future reference, if the gals have any more trouble booking Aussie gigs, they’re always welcome to come play for us here in the Music Feeds studio. Just sayin. We’re always in the mood to Push It.

According to The Bureau’s PR, there are “some great replacement options already in the pipeline” for the debut event, and we’ll be sure to let you know as soon as said acts have been confirmed.

The Bureau 2015 will take place on Friday, 11th December at Melbourne’s Sidney Myer Music Bowl. Tickets go on sale from next Monday, 28th September.
