SBS Are Counting Down The Chillest 100 Songs Of All Time & Voting Is Open Now

SBS is set to ring in the new year in the most chill style imaginable when they present ‘The Chillest 100countdown.

After the dumpster fire of 2020, SBS will ease us all into 2021 with ‘The Chillest 100’ a user voted countdown of the 100 most chilled-out songs of all time. Taking place on January 1st 2021, yep, that’s New Years Day, the cheekily named ‘Chillest 100’ will bring a sense of calm to your hangover/comedown, all you need to do is head on over to their website and vote for the most ‘relaxing’ song ever.

If you’re after guidance on what to vote for SBS gave some examples of what they’re looking for. “Think Air, Massive Attack, Portishead, Tycho, Bonobo, Thievery Corporation, Tosca, Kinobe, Morcheeba, Boards of Canada to name a few,” reads the press release for the event. “But remember the choice is up to you!”

Here at Music Feeds we can’t help but agree that all of those would make outstanding entries and we feel that placing the fate of New Years Day in the hands of the exemplary music taste of folks like you is never a bad bet.

As a bonus, with a word as open to interpretation as ‘chillest’ we could see some truly bizarre entries makes the countdown. We’re calling at least one vote for Deafheaven for example or, say, sleepmakeswaves alongside no doubt thousands for acts as varied as Dope Lemon, Sigur Ros, Bon Iver, Imogen Heap, Julien Baker, Toro Y Moi, Frank Ocean and more.

Personally, I find stuff like Sleep Token ‘chill’, but I suspect I’m not quite what they had in mind.

If you’re looking for voting inspiration why not check out this rad little triple j chill playlist below.

Voting for the ‘Chillest 100’ is open RN and closes this Sunday 13th December, so get in quick to make sure the tunes are as chill as those New Beers come January 1st.
