Scar The Martyr To Play Soundwave 2014?

UPDATE: Second Soundwave 2014 lineup is in – full details here!

Slipknot drummer Joey Jordison is no stranger to Soundwave Festival and now it looks like his latest project Scar The Martyr is looking at an early 2014 appearance Down Under, putting them squarely in the running for the second Soundwave lineup announcement.

Speaking to Music Feeds ahead of the release of Scar The Martyr’s self-titled debut album, due out this Friday, Jordison revealed the band is in talks to tour Australia in February next year, placing them here at the right time for a Soundwave 2014 appearance.

When asked about the likelihood of Scar The Martyr making the trip to Australia, Jordison “guaranteed” an Australian tour is on the cards, and when pressed about a time frame he confirmed that he’s hoping its happening very soon:

“We will make it down there and hopefully it will be around the beginning of the year. We’re seeing what’s happening around [February]. We’re seeing what’s up. It’s nothing I can announce yet.”

While the drummer has fallen short of 100% confirming the bands involvement with the festival, there aren’t too many other Scar The Martyr-eqsue events going down in February. Jordison has previously made the journey to Soundwave with both Slipknot and his other-other project Murderdolls so the man clearly has ins with the right people.

We’re feeling good about this one. The full interview with Jordison will feature in a future episode of Music Feeds Podcast, available shortly. In the meantime, check out the just-released video for Scar The Martyr’s Blood Host and a brand-new album trailer below.
