Australian blues legend Jimi Hocking, aka Jimi The Human, will headline this year’s Docklands Blues Music Festival, a free event that will feature some of Australia’s most accomplished blues musicians as well as international favourites as they head to the Victorian capital this October.
The internationally acclaimed Jimi Hocking has been one of the country’s premier blues and rock musicians for over two decades. While he is perhaps best known for his tenure as guitarist for The Screaming Jets, his career has seen him take on many frontiers.
Having earnt his stripes in front of bands such as The Astroboys and The Astros in the mid-’80s, he has released two albums under the guise of Jimi The Human, shared the bill with legends such as Joe Satriani and George Thorogood, impressed the likes of BB King and toured with The Angels.
Hocking, who has been dubbed as the “love child of T-Bone Walker, Bb King and Jimi Hendrix”, will be rocking the Docklands stage alongside Germany’s Johnny Rieger Band, electric blues four piece Greg Dood & The Hoodoo Men, Melbourne’s Dreamboogie and many more.
With 20 bands and five stages, the Docklands Blues Music Festival is set to be one massive free music event, held on the first Sunday in October. See the dates and lineup below.
