Selena Gomez is set to star in a biopic of the legendary singer Linda Ronstadt. The film is in the early stages of production and is being produced by James Keech, who is known for the Oscar-winning Johnny Cash biopic, Walk the Line. The other producer is Ronstadt’s longtime manager John Boylan.
Linda Ronstadt is one of the best-selling artists of all time, with 100 million records sold worldwide, and 11 Grammy Awards collected in her music career. She announced her retirement from singing in 2011 and was not able to sing due to Parkinson’s disease, which later turned out to be due to progressive supranuclear palsy.
