In the space of just two singles, Sydney crew SHE REX have managed to instill a sense of fear amongst their rivals, and their latest music video, P.O.W.E.R., demonstrates how that fear is totally justified. SHE REX have turned a simple performance clip into a fierce documentation of just how much fury dwells within this army of four.
The video has the look of a haunted rave in a hospital, just after you’ve candy flipped, with the atmosphere lending a serious amount of impact to the track. Creating a wall of sound with their tasteful fusion of hip hop and fuzzed-out prog, doused in some seriously attractive attitude, SHE REX have nestled themselves into a sonic niche that many similar acts simply don’t reach.
The straight-up ‘fuck you’ of a ditty is said to be a key feature on their upcoming self-titled EP. SHE REX have also been working hard in a live sense, gigging where ever they are needed, be that in support of local heroes Regular John and Dune Rats or at their own headlining shows – their upcoming residency at Sydney’s OAF is going to be a blast.
