Sleigh Bells support shake up

Due to unforeseen circumstances the Frontier Touring Company has announced the withdrawal of Seekae from Sleigh Bells’ January 2011 Sydney and Melbourne shows.  Melbourne band Rat Vs Possum have stepped in to fill the support spot for Sleigh Bells in Melbourne at the Prince Bandroom on Friday 7th January and in Sydney at The Forum on Saturday 8th January.

Excitement is growing as Sleigh Bells continue to dominate the musical landscape with their infectious brand of chaotic indie rock. Currently on tour in Europe the Brooklyn duo have earned admiration from all corners; critics and artists such as MIA are fans and the anticipation is massive as Sleigh Bells prepare to head down under for the first time.

Melbourne five-piece Rat Vs Possum first made their mark on the musical world with their debut album Daughter of Sunshine, released in April 2010 to a barrage of positive reviews and community radio support. Following this was a series of sold-out launch shows, support slots for Passion Pit, El Guincho, Ponytail, The Handsome Furs, Midnight Juggernauts and national tours with Regurgitator and Washington.

Rat Vs Possum are no average band; their extraordinary blend of experimental electro pop that references genres as diverse as electronic music, ’70s German psychedelia and African tribal rhythms has gained them a cult following and their live presence is as exciting and unpredictable as their music.

See Rat Vs Possum for yourself as they support Sleigh Bells in an explosive show that will also feature a DJ set from Vampire Weekend’s Baio and sets from infamous indie party-starters the Purple Sneakers DJs.
