Slipknot, Tool & Def Leppard Lead Download Festival’s 2019 UK Lineup

Download Festival has made its first lineup announcement for 2019’s UK event, and it is a doozy.

Organisers have secured Slipknot, Tool and Def Leppard (playing their album Hysteria in full) as headliners for the festival, which will take place at Donington Park in Leicestershire on the weekend of 14th–16th June.

The likes of Slash Ft. Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators, Whitesnake, Rob Zombie, Trivium, Amon Amarth, Die Antwoord, Underoath and Australia’s The Amity Affliction have also been named on the first wave of acts, which you can read in full down below.

“It’s not quite been 10,000 Days since we have been able to indulge in one of our favourite alt-rock bands, but after 13 years, I am thrilled to announce Tool are finally making their long-awaited return to Download,” said Download Festival’s Andy Copping.

“Renowned for being one of the best live bands on the planet due to their one-of-a-kind performances, Slipknot are an incredible addition to the main stage.

“Last but not least, I am honoured to welcome true rock’n’roll legends Def Leppard to Download who bring with them a UK exclusive chance to see Hysteria played in full.”

Download Festival announced its 2019 Australian lineup in September, topped by Black Sabbath icon Ozzy Osbourne and thrash legends Slayer. The festival will hit Sydney’s Parramatta Park and Melbourne’s Flemington Racecourse in March.
