Download Festival Australia 2019 Lineup Announced

Written by Tom Williams on September 19, 2018

Following an unfortunate leak, Download Festival has now confirmed which heavy acts from Australia and around the world will perform in Sydney and Melbourne next March.

Headlined by Black Sabbath icon Ozzy Osbourne and thrash legends Slayer (who will both perform as part of their final world tours), the lineup also features the likes of Judas Priest, Alice In Chains, Ghost, Rise Against, The Amity Affliction and Anthrax.

Download 2019 will be a two-date, five-stage affair, hitting Sydney’s Parramatta Park on Saturday, 9th March and Melbourne’s Flemington Racecourse on Monday, 11th March (during a long weekend).

Download organisers have previously suggested there are plans to eventually expand Download Festival into a “nationally touring event”, but it will only hit Sydney and Melbourne next year, after debuting in Melbourne earlier this year.

In his review of Download Melbourne 2018, Music Feeds contributor Brenton Harris described the event as “one of most enjoyable one-day festivals” he’s attended.

“Everything sounded, looked and felt great, and the crowd responded by being an absolute blast to be amongst,” he said.

Police praised audience behaviour at Download Melbourne’s debut event, despite a number of arrests.
