Last week Soundwave promoter AJ Maddah slammed police in Sydney after they decided to confiscate bottles of water from the punters. Now in Melbourne Maddah has hit out at police again, this time for setting up a Drug and Alcohol Testing unit aimed at targeting festival goers on their drive home.
Maddah took to Twitter to vent his frustration:
@iamnotshouting: Police setting up a major booz bus on Farnsworth St, ensuring traffic clusterfuck.
Earlier in the night Maddah also announced that US band Switchfoot were flying home tonight due to a family emergency and will no longer play the rest of the tour.
The Soundwave Festival will head to Adelaide tomorrow before winding up in Perth on Monday.
