Map and timetables for Soundwave 2014‘s Melbourne leg have now been unveiled, having undergone revisions following complaints over the previously unveiled Brisbane and Sydney set times, which included band clashes that promoter AJ Maddah deemed “unacceptable.”
The touring mogul and his team have had a busy few weeks, having seen the the festival’s Perth event change venues from the troublesome Claremont Showgrounds to Arena Joondalup, the cancellation of metal acts Megadeth and Whitechapel, and the addition of five new bands.
Bands including Down, DevilDriver and Trivium received extended set times in the wake of a mysterious dispute between thrash metal legends Megadeth and Soundwave organisers, which led to the band’s last-minute cancellation, effectively ensuring no replacement could be booked.
Melbourne readers can now check below for their official Soundwave 2014 set times and see what’s kept Maddah and the Soundwave folks busy for the last couple of weeks, besides, of course, arranging incredible Sidewaves, which readers can check out at our special Sidewaves Feed.
Changes include GWAR now starting much earlier in the day, Crosses moving forward, swapping places with Pulled Apart By Horses, Newsted and Amon Amarth swapping spots, with the latter opening Stage 4, and an extra 15 minutes added to headliner Avenged Sevenfold‘s set.
