Along with this morning’s Falls Festival 2014 lineup announcement, the official first lineup for Western Australia’s Southbound 2016 has now been unveiled, with big-name acts such as Disclosure, Bloc Party, Foals, Courtney Barnett, Gary Clark Jr and even ‘Weird Al’ Yankovic.
Elsewhere on the lineup you’ll find Halsey, Django Django, Kurt Vile And The Violators, Mac DeMarco, Young Fathers , Toro y Moi as well as Aussie acts Birds Of Tokyo, Gang Of Youths, Meg Mac, Hiatus Kaiyote, Hilltop Hoods, RÜFÜS and a bunch more.
Southbound has expanded to three days in 2016, meaning there’s an extra day and night of summer entertainment. Things will kick off with the festival’s opening party, Friday Night Fever, allowing punters to get fancy with the dress up theme “Disco Inferno”.
Leading the Friday Night Fever lineup is Sydney trio Art Vs Science, Perth producers Hwls, Fremantle seven-piece Koi Child and Sydney’s one-man flash mob The Dancing Accountant.
Southbound camping is free and once again punters will be able to pitch their tents next to their cars. Southbound ticket pre-sales will be start 9am AWST Wednesday August 5th until 5pm AWST Sunday August 9th.
General ticket sales will commence at 9am AWST from Monday August 10th. See the lineup and dates below.
