It’s 2019 and all anyone can ever talk about is astrology. Now, while Co-Star is still around to give us our daily zodiac attacks, Spotify has stepped up and have curated twelve playlists centred around the zodiac – one for each star sign.
These ‘Cosmic Playlists’ have been curated by celebrity astrologer Chani Nicholas, and each playlist, on mobile, comes with an actual reading based on your star sign. All of the playlists, from the almighty Capricorns to the trash pile of Scorpios, feature artists and songs that have themes that mirror the themes of each star sign – at the moment.
“When a song resonates with you, it might feel really personal, like it’s speaking about your own experience,” said Nicholas in a statement.
“But it’s also speaking to a huge, broad audience. When there’s something collectively going on where a song resonates for a lot of people, it’s the same way that a horoscope will speak to the archetypal themes of the moment.”
She goes on, saying “horoscopes are a very tiny portion of what astrology is. Most people conflate the sign that the sun was in when they were born—their sun sign—with their entire astrological makeup.”
“But that sign is only one small piece of the huge mosaic that is your entire chart.”
The playlists will be updated every month with a completely new reading, and they can all be found via the ‘Trending’ tab or by searching your star sign in Spotify.
