Did Sugar Mountain Festival Just Tease The First Act On Its 2018 Lineup?

UPDATE: Sugar Mountain has confirmed J Hus as the first artist on its 2018 lineup.

ORIGINAL STORY: Melbourne’s annual Sugar Mountain festival may have just teased the first act on its yet-to-be-announced 2018 lineup, thanks to a sneaky teaser video.

Taking to socials today, Sugar Mountain shared a highlights video from festivals-gone-by. Interestingly, the clip is soundtracked by the song ‘Did You See’ by English hip hop artist J Hus, who is yet to perform at any Sugar Mountain festival.

Hmmm…. coincidence? Bloody unlikely.

ICYMI: This year’s Sugar Mountain lineup featured some absolutely HUGE international names, including German producer Pantha Du Prince, British rapper Little Simz and Canadian electronic crossover Jessy Lanza (Blood Orange was announced to headline but sadly had to cancel), plus locals like The Avalanches, Big Scary, KUČKA and Methyl Ethel.

Of this year’s event, Music Feeds reviewer Cyclone Wehner said: “It’s the most authentic – and eccentric – Melbourne fest, with curated everything. In 2017 Sugar Mountain actually presented a dog show the night prior. Costume categories including drag.”

The 2018 Sugar Mountain lineup is expected to drop in full in the coming weeks, so stay tuned to Music Feeds for all the details. In the meantime, can catch the festival’s cheeky teaser video below, along with a gallery of choice pics from this year’s festivities.
