Sus The Nominees For 2021’s Rolling Stone Australia Awards

There’s absolutely no doubt about the fact that this last year has been particularly trying for the global music industry. Though the pandemic has basically put the live side of the industry on the back burner for the time being, artists haven’t stopped creating music.

And that’s exactly what’s going to be celebrated at the 2020 Sailor Jerry Rolling Stone Australia Awards ceremony at the end of March.

The nominees have just been announced with awards up for grabs in five general categories: Best Record, Best Single, Best New Artist, Rolling Stone Global Award, and the Rolling Stone Reader’s Award.

Tame Impala are up for awards in three of those categories, thanks to the release of their 2020 record The Slow Rush. The Kid LAROI, E^ST, Tash Sultana and Sia are among a bunch of other acts up for multiple awards too.

The Reader’s Award category is the only category decided by the magazine’s subscribers, and features a solid list of nominees including Ball Park Music, Lime Cordiale, The Chats and more.

The Global Award will be decided by Rolling Stone staff members from around the world.

“While 2020 will be remembered as the year that tipped the music industry on its axis, the music that has been released is nothing short of astonishing,” said Rolling Stone Australia‘s Managing Editor, Poppy Reid.

“I believe the incredible breadth of Australia’s music talent is reflected in these nominees and I’m so looking forward to celebrating each and every one of them at the Rolling Stone Australia Awards in March.”

The invite-only ceremony will take place on March 31.
