Sydney Violin Tutor Charged Over Alleged Indecent Assault Of Six-Year-Old Student

A Sydney music teacher has been charged with indecently assaulting a six-year-old female student 20 times during private violin lessons in the city’s north.

The 21-year-old male tutor is now behind bars, after detectives formally charged him at Redfern Police Station at around 1pm yesterday (Friday 25 May) following close to a month of “extensive investigations”.

Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad detectives allege that the man indecently assaulted the young girl on numerous occasions during private violin lessons at an after-school facility at Denistone East.

The tutor has been charged with 20 counts of indecent assault of person under 16 years, and refused bail ahead of an appearance at Parramatta Bail Court later today. His employment at the facility has also been suspended.

Meanwhile, police say their investigations are continuing, and are urging anyone with further information to come forward via Crime Stoppers.
