Sydney’s Parades Call It A Day

Though their life together as a band was brief, Sydney outfit Parades certainly managed to cover a lot of ground. However, the band have announced today via Facebook that they will no longer be continuing to make music as Parades.

In the announcement, after declaring that “Parades is no longer…”, the band were sure to thank “everyone who came to a show, bought a CD or told their friends about us”.

The group released just one album, 2010’s Foreign Tapes, but found their way onto tours with heavyweights Two Door Cinema Club, Beach House and Cold War Kids.

For fans of Parades’ music, you needn’t fret. The band have made it very clear that although they will be going their separate ways, they will still be making music. Members Daniel Cunningham and Michael Scarpin will continue under their alter ego Light Giants, Tim Jenkins will go forth under the moniker of Au.Ra, and drummer Jonathan Boulet will of course continue his successful solo career.
