System Of A Down Are Up To Something Big

It’s time to start getting excited, System Of A Down fans. We don’t know 100% what the band are up to, but it’s definitely something.

In fact, it can pretty much only be one of two somethings.

They’re either rehearsing for an as-yet-unannounced show or tour of some kind, or else they’re in fully fledged studio mode working on their first new music since 2005’s Hypnotize.

We know this because three of SOAD’s four members have posted Instagram pics of themselves playing together inside a studio with the hashtag “#letsdothis”.

In one of the photos – which shows drummer John Dolmayan bashing the tubs – his kit clearly isn’t mic’d up, which means the dudes are either rehearsing, jamming or writing together as opposed to recording just yet. But still, it’s a promising sign.

Frontman Serj Tankian is notably absent from the photos (but of course, that doesn’t mean he wasn’t there).

Now let’s look at the facts: these social media updates have arrived just a few short months after Tankian confirmed that System had been working on new material but hadn’t actually entered a studio yet.

Well they certainly have now, so if you ask us, all signs point to new SOAD music on the horizon (finally!)

Have a geez at the photos below and see what you reckon.
