After taking a short breather in 2024 (AKA the most cursed year for Australian festivals since COVID) Tassie’s beloved alternative bash Dark Mofo will be back with a devilish, nude-swimming vengeance next year.
Organisers have confirmed the midwinter solstice extravaganza will return in full force in 2025, firing off an official save the date for punters to mark down in your calendars.
Winter Feast Promo 2024
Dark Mofo 2025 will take place from Thursday, 5th June to Sunday, 15th June 2025 with an “ambitious art and music program”, alongside all your fave time-honoured rituals including Winter Feast, the Ogoh-Ogoh, Night Mass and the Nude Solstice Swim, which will be baring all on Saturday, 21st June.
“Dark Mofo is back,” Artistic Director Chris Twite said in a press statement. “For our eleventh chapter once more we’ll bathe the city in red and deliver two weeks of inspiring art, music and ritual. Today we’re giving Dark Mofo devotees a chance to access a limited pre-release of tickets to the sprawling behemoth, Night Mass.”
Flagging limited Night Mass pre-release tickets, Twite added: “Night Mass is a beast, and this year it will evolve once more; worming its way through the city with new spaces, performances and experiences to dance, explore or crawl your way through.”
