Roughly a year after they first got back together, The Peep Tempel have announced that they will be winding down their reunion with a final run of dates in October 2025. The new batch of dates will see them play shows in Brisbane, Adelaide and their native Melbourne before once again putting the band on ice. The full list of dates, as well as ticketing information, can be found below.
“We weren’t sure how this [reunion] was going to go, but we are playing better than we ever have,” said Blake Scott – the band’s lead vocalist and guitarist – in a press statement. “Seven years’ rest was just what we needed. So many friendly faces still to see; old friends, new friends. Can’t wait to eat in Adelaide; morning Yum Cha, Yiros, late night pie floaters and the McLeod/Matera debate. To breathe the air of a [Peter] Dutton-free Brisbane for the first time. It will be a time.”
The Peep Tempel – ‘Carol’
The band’s 2025 reunion run has seen them play headlining shows in Fremantle, Sydney and Melbourne. They were supported on all shows by Perth punk band Last Quokka, who released their fifth album Take The Fight To The Bastards back in March. The trio then headed to Dashville in the Hunter Valley, where they performed at this year’s Gum Ball festival, and headed south to Hobart over the weekend (June 15th), where they performed at the final day of this year’s Dark Mofo.
The shows belatedly commemorated their second album, 2014’s Tales, which the band reissued on vinyl back in October – 10 years to the day of its release. “[It’d] been out of press for awhile,” said Scott at the time. “People all over the world are still discovering this record, so we’d like to make it available to them to enjoy as a tangible object as opposed to a stream. Tim Molloy’s artwork is incredible. It’s a good album, and now you can get it in pink. [That’s] the colour of unconditional love, friendship and conviviality, which is what we all need. Especially the characters on this record.”
