A teenager was flown to hospital in a serious but stable condition after suffering a fall at the UNIFY Gathering music festival in Victoria’s Gippsland region on the weekend.
Ambulance Victoria has confirmed to Music Feeds that paramedics were called to the festival grounds in Tarwin Lower in the early hours of Sunday morning, 14th January, following reports of a fall.
“A man in his teens was flown by Air Ambulance Helicopter to The Alfred Hospital in a serious but stable condition with non-traumatic injuries,” paramedics say.
The teenager has since been discharged from hospital. The exact nature of his injuries is unclear.
In a statement to Music Feeds, UNIFY Gathering organisers Unified Music Group say:
“During the early hours of Sunday morning, a young man presented to First Aid. The onsite doctor assessed the patron and determined the need for further assessment and, as a precautionary measure, worked with the onsite Ambulance Victoria team to have the patron transferred via helicopter to The Alfred Hospital for further assessment.
“The patron was discharged from hospital later that day and returned to his family home. We’d like to take this opportunity to thank our amazing medical team and Ambulance Victoria for all their great work at UNIFY.”
Meanwhile, Victoria Police has told Music Feeds this year’s UNIFY Gathering crowd was “well behaved”, with no incidents of note reported to police.
UNIFY Gathering 2018 took place between Friday, 12th and Sunday, 14th January, with thousands of attendees catching sets from the likes of Architects, Parkway Drive, Tonight Alive and The Amity Affliction.
