Two icons of the electro-pop genre, Empire Of The Sun and PNAU‘s Nick Littlemore and Ladyhawke‘s Pip Brown, have resurrected their cult indie-dance project, Teenager, and blessed us with a fresh alt-pop anthem dubbed ‘A.A.’
Arriving amid a wave of synths and dark lyrical themes, the future-facing electro-pop single blends Littlemore’s iconic production with Ladyhawke’s unmistakable vocals.

On the meaning behind the song, Littlemore explains: “We are all isolated, we are all dejected, but weirdly that’s what links us all. Connected by the universal suffering, everyone is touched by that and no one is spared.”
You can stream Teenager’s new offering ‘A.A.’ above, but that’s not all. The release also comes peppered with the news of a full body of work on the way. Their next record, dubbed Fourteen, is due to reach our ears later in 2025.
Formed in 2004 by Littlemore and the then-rising Kiwi star Pip Brown (aka Ladyhawke), Teenager made an instant impact with their unique fusion of punk, dance, and DIY ethos. Their debut album, Thirteen (2006), was recorded across a whirlwind of studios in Sydney, London, New York, Paris, and Los Angeles – a truly global effort that delivered hits like ‘Pony’ and ‘Bound and Gagged’.
With collaborations spanning Sonic Youth, Van She, Luke Steele, The Birthday Party, and The Presets, Thirteen became an underground sensation, winning fans across the UK, US, and Australia. But, as is often the case with bands that burn this bright, Teenager’s success was both their gift and their curse. By 2007, Pip Brown had embarked on her solo career as Ladyhawke, dropping the synth-pop anthems ‘My Delirium’ and ‘Paris Is Burning’. Meanwhile, Nick Littlemore returned to PNAU and co-created Empire of the Sun with Luke Steele, delivering massive global hits like ‘Walking On A Dream’, ‘We Are The People’, and ‘Alive’.
Fast forward to 2025: after over a decade of creative cross-pollination, the pair have reignited Teenager with this promising new chapter.
