One of the last remaining true institutions of Australian rock are calling it quits, with veteran country-rock band The Dingoes set to split just two years after reforming.
The band have just started a tour in support of new live album The Dingoes Live At Last, after which the band will be put to bed – for good this time, as they have “nothing more to prove.”
The Dingoes were inspired to reform after being inducted to the ARIA Hall of Fame in 2009, with new album Tracks the result. The original incarnation of the band enjoyed success in the 70s with albums The Dingoes, Five Times The Sun and Orphans Of The Storm.
The farewell tour includes A Day On The Green shows with Joe Cocker, George Thorogood and Diesel and appearances at Port Fairy Folk Festival in Victoria and the East Coast Blues and Roots Festival in NSW.
Released on Liberation Records on February 4th, The Dingoes Live At Last contains “pretty much every classic Dingoes track you could think of” and was recorded at the Norwood Hotel in Adelaide and the Northcote Social Club in Melbourne.
