The Vines To Play Chapel Gig In May

Sydney rock troupe The Vines are the latest in the long line of bands to perform for the Live At The Chapel TV series. The four-piece will take to the stage on Thursday May 26 in what will be the first of the 2011 season from the chapel.

The Music Network reports that the performance will take place a week before the band release their fifth album, Future Primitive (out on June 3). Live At The Chapel takes place at St Stephen’s Anglican Church in Newtown in Sydney’s inner west.

Singer with The Vines Craig Nicholl said, “We’re stoked to play Live At The Chapel, following in the footsteps of some bands that we really admire, like Foo Fighters and Coldplay. Can’t wait to play the new album live!”

Other major acts to play the chapel in recent times include Coldplay, The Temper Trap, John Mayer, Lady GaGa, John Butler Trio, Sneaky Sound System and Josh Pyke.

Tickets for the show from The Vines can only be obtained through a competition at www.liveatthechapel.com.au.

Some will remember the ‘Live At The Chapel’ concept from its time in Melbourne – it moved north to Sydney in 2010 and is now sponsored by Russian Standard Vodka and produced by MCM.
