Reformed rockers The Vines have announced a one-off free show in Sydney this coming October long weekend, giving hometown fans a chance to see the band play live material from their recently released new album.
Appearing in the carpark of Marrickville’s Vic On The Park Hotel on Sunday, 5th October, Craig Nicholls and new bandmates Tim John of The Griswolds and drummer Lachlan West, also from The Griswolds and Something With Numbers, will no doubt play cuts off their latest album Wicked Nature, as well as previous fan favourites.
The Vines have previously noted that Wicked Nature has been “made for the fans” as a double-LP with 22 tracks and have dubbed it the band’s first independent full-length release. The first disc was co-produced by Nicholls and producer Paul McKercher, whilst the second was produced solely by Nicholls.
They’ll be joined by Sydney punk rock five-piece Chicks Who Love Guns and pop-rock outfit The Lulu Raes. Things will kick off at 1pm and run through until around 6pm. In the meantime, have a listen to the band’s ’60s-inspired single Girl I Want, complete with a free download!
