While in the country for the highly awaited 2014 instalment of the Meredith Music Festival, Philadelphia indie rockers The War On Drugs have announced they will be playing three headlining sideshows set for The Zoo in Brisbane, Melbourne’s The Hi-Fi and Sydney’s Metro Theatre.
The group will be touting their latest studio album, the universally acclaimed Lost In A Dream, which coincidently is Aunty Meredith’s favourite album of the year. It’ll be the latest Aussie sojourn from the band, who previously travelled Down Under for lauded stints at Falls and Harvest festivals.
Their third studio album, Lost In A Dream was written and recorded over two years, taking place amid the outfit’s gruelling tour schedule and demonstrates frontman Adam Granduciel‘s songwriting progression. The band recently appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman in support of their album and unleashed a stunning version of their track Red Eyes.
Meanwhile, Meredith 2014 will retain 2013’s capacity restrictions, which were reduced by 500 people from previous years. The festival will take place from Friday 12th to Sunday, 14th December. As per usual, the festival ballot ensures most tickets go to subscribers. Just head over to the Meredith website before 9:47pm on Monday, 11th August 2014, and go from there.
