Kingdom Hearts, arguably one of the best and most lasting role-playing game’s in history, began its run in 2002 with the very first Kingdom Hearts. Since then, the series has become somewhat of a cultural phenomenon.
As of February this year, the Kingdom Hearts series has sold over 30 million copies worldwide.
At the end of January, Square Enix – the company behind the game – launched Kingdom Hearts III. One of the defining factors of the success of the Kingdom Hearts series is the soundtrack. Each soundtrack has been masterfully curated, with KHIII being composed by Yoko Shimomura (Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy XV), Takeharu Ishimoto (Legend of Mana) and Tsuyoshi Sekito (Brave Fencer Musashi, Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children).
To celebrate the launch of KHIII, the Kingdom Hearts Orchestra concert series has been back out on tour with a brand new program dubbed Kingdom Hearts Orchestra -World of Tres-.
The concert series has seen multiple iterations over the last few years, with the unforgettable scores being brought to life in cities across the globe.
Produced by Director Tetsuya Nomura, -World of Tres- will see a giant screen video projection work in harmony with the music being played.
The first half of the concert will depict the story so far, game by game, ending with a huge boss medley.
The second half will focus on the conclusion of the saga as depicted in Kingdom Hearts III.
The performance will be stopping in for two sessions only at the Centennial Hall in the Sydney Town Hall on Saturday, 19th October. Nab tickets while they’re still around via Moshtix.
