There’s A New Album Of Unreleased Lil Peep Music On The Way

When rapper Lil Peep tragically passed away in late 2017 at the age of 21, he left a trove of unreleased music behind. A posthumous album, Come Over When You’re Sober Pt. 2, was released last year, and now it appears another album is on the way.

The late rapper’s mother Liza Womack took to her son’s official Instagram account to share the news. “Who wants a new album with amazing unreleased Lil Peep music put together by Gus’s mom and the songs’s original collaborators?” she asked in a post.

“You have been asking for this, and I can’t wait to get it to you!”

Peep, whose real name was Gustav Åhr, died in November 2017 from an accidental overdose of fentanyl and Xanax while on tour promoting debut album Come Over When You’re Sober Pt. 1. The artist had a meteoric rise following the release of his Hellboy mixtape in 2016, and was heralded as one of the pioneers of a then-burgeoning emo-rap movement.

Earlier this year we heard again from the Lil Peep estate with the single ‘I’ve Been Waiting’, which featured both iLoveMakonnen and Fall Out Boy.

Most recently, a Travis Barker remix of ‘Falling Down’, Peep’s posthumous “collaboration” of sorts with the late XXXTentaction, was released. The original track drew controversy for the inclusion of X’s verse, which has been left in the Travis Barker version. Members of Goth Boi Clique, the collective Peep was a part of, claimed that he never would have agreed to the inclusion of a verse by the rapper, who was notorious for his abusive behaviour towards women.

Check out the Instagram post from Womack below, along with Barker’s remix of ‘Falling Down’.
