Thirty Seconds To Mars guitarist Tomislav “Tomo” Miličević has announced his departure from the band, following weeks of speculation surrounding his position in the group.
Miličević, who has been absent from some of Thirty Seconds To Mars’ recent European tour, has taken to Twitter to tell fans he is no longer part of the band.
In a statement posted this morning, Miličević said, “There’s really not an easy way to say it so I thought, just say it. I am no longer with Thirty Seconds To Mars.”
The guitarist reassured disappointed fans by saying his departure would be “the best thing for me in my life and also for the band”.
“The years that I have been privileged enough to spend with all of you will live inside of my heart and mind as some of the most amazing memories I’ll ever have,” he said.
“I want to say thank you to Jared [Leto] and Shannon [Leto] for allowing me the privilege to be a small part of their dream and to have been able to share the stage with them for so long.
“I’ll cherish the moments we had together and I’ll have love in my heard every time I think of those days until I draw my final breath.”
Miličević, who joined Thirty Seconds To Mars back in 2003, also addressed fans directly.
“Please don’t be sad or angry over this and most of all, please don’t be divided over this, this is a good thing and will be good for everyone,” he said.

Thirty Seconds To Mars, which now consists solely of Jared and Shannon Leto, are yet to release a statement.
Last year, Jared Leto said the band would “absolutely” tour Australia in 2018, but that’s yet to happen. The group are also currently working on a new album.
