Tim Minchin has finally released his highly anticipated second single, titled ‘I’ll Take Lonely Tonight’, from his forthcoming debut album.
The album, Apart Together, is due out later this year, and will also feature lead single ‘Leaving LA’, which dropped back in March on the cusp of the coronavirus pandemic.
“When I started playing this tune on tour early last year, it became clear that it was really affecting people,” said Minchin in a press statement.
“I thought this temptation tug-of-war might be something experienced more by touring musos… but I kept getting people – men and women equally – telling me that it really hit home for them.”
Minchin has also dropped an accompanying music video for the track, which was brought to life with the assistance of Caro Constantine.
“Caro…came on board to help me make a film that reflects the dynamic of the tune and the push-and-pull of drunken temptation. I can’t wait for it to be released into the wild,” Minchin said.
