Tour Guide: Architecture In Helsinki, Tales In Space

Two of the Australian music scene’s most individualistic and forward-thinking bands have announced tours: Architecture In Helsinki and Tales In Space. AIH’s tour comes amid a flurry of excitement over their place on the Groovin The Moo 2014 roster, announced this morning.

Meanwhile Tales In Space’s upcoming East Coast and regional dates come amid excitement over the duo’s awaited return since they first got crowds moving with the award-winning, pop-driven ear-worm that was their single Shades, Triple J‘s 34th most played song of 2013, according to jplay.

Architecture In Helsinki Announce 2014 East Coast Tour Dates

Following last week’s announcement that Melbourne’s own Architecture In Helsinki will unveil a new album dubbed Now + 4EVA and today’s announcement that they are part of the stellar lineup for Groovin The Moo 2014, the band have now announced a string of East Coast tour dates.

The band have accompanied the announcement with an eye-catching, creative, and characteristically absurdist video for the band’s second Now + 4EVA single, Dream A Little Crazy. The new clip comes ahead of the album’s release, which is slated for Friday, 28th March.

The colourful clip was directed by body architect Lucy McRae, a creative polymath whose work delves into the worlds of fashion, technology, and the human body, and is known for its ability to blur the lines between the human form and its surrounding environment.

Tales In Space Announce March Tour Dates

The pair that brought you the impossibly catchy, award-winning 2013 hit Shades are back, with a new single and a new tour in tow. Tales In Space‘s latest track, All Messed Up sees the band harness their trademark combo of pop melodies, jangly guitars, and dance floor-ready beats.

To celebrate the new track the band will be hitting the road in March for a series of shows in Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney, and a string of regional dates. The band have developed some considerable live chops following tours with The Cairos, RUFUS, Kingswood, and Dappled Cities.

The duo have a certain flair for songwriting too, with Shades becoming the 16th most played Aussie track on Triple J in 2013 and winning the John Lennon Song Writing Competition’s ‘Rock’ category prize, as well as being shortlisted in the Vanda and Young Songwriting Competition.
