Trent Reznor Says He “Couldn’t Give Less Of A Shit” About Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame

ICYMI, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame 2019 nominees were released earlier this month, and Nine Inch Nails have been snubbed yet again. But it doesn’t seem like frontman Trent Reznor cares all too much.

In a new interview with Stereogum, Reznor said, quite plainly, “I honestly could’ve give less of a shit.”

“I saw somebody write something online or comment on Twitter like, ‘What could be less rock and roll than the fuckin’ Hall Of Fame?’ And that is authentically how I feel about it,” he said.

He does say that it’s nice to be appreciated, but also he took other institutions to ask as well.

“I’ll say this – it’s nice to be appreciated. It’s nicer when it feels like that’s coming from a place that you care about. Like, a Grammy doesn’t mean a fuckin’ thing. It means a few assholes in a room that are trying to make a TV show have good ratings deciding, ‘Let’s give it to this guy.’ It doesn’t feel like it has any meaning behind it.”

“I honestly couldn’t give less of a shit,” he continued. “I’m not gonna sleep any better. Included or not. With that being said, it’s always nice to feel you’ve been appreciated to some degree but it’s not on my list of things I have to achieve before I die.”

This is the third consecutive year the band has been snubbed, according to Consequence Of Sound. 2019’s nominees Radiohead, Def Leppard, Stevie Nicks, Rage Against The Machine, The Cure, Devo, Janet Jackson, Kraftwerk, LL Cool J, Roxy Music, Todd Rundgren, John Prine, MC5, Rufus featuring Chaka Khan and The Zombies.
