Triple J ‘Like A Version Nine’ Makes ARIA Chart History

It was clear from the get-go that there was something particularly awesome about the latest edition of Triple J’s Like A Version compilation, and now it’s been made official with the release debuting at #1 on the ARIA Album Charts, the first such occasion in the series’ history.

Though over the years compilation releases from ABC Music such as various Hottest 100 volumes have cracked pole position, it’s only ever happened in the ARIA Compilations Album Charts. This time around, Like A Version has trumped every single mainstream album release on the market.

Though there’s no scientific proof as to why Like A Version Nine has smashed so darm hard, it’s success is surely directly correlated to the ridiculously high standard of artists that feature on the release. You couldn’t exactly say that previous Like A Versions had struggled in the charts though. Back in 2010, Like A Version Six made it all the way to a very respectable #2 in the ARIA Charts.
