Update 28/01/18: Hottest 200 countdown has started (live updates)

Update: The winner of the Hottest 100 of 2017 has been announced

The time has come — triple j‘s Hottest 100 of 2017 is here, with a new date and 100 of the best songs of last year, as voted by you.

After a record number of votes, triple j has crunched the numbers to discover listeners’ favourite tracks of 2017, and we’re following the whole thing LIVE right here on Music Feeds.

Experts who have been tracking the public’s votes are predicting (WARNING: POTENTIAL SPOILERS) that Kendrick Lamar’s hit single ‘HUMBLE.’ will top this year’s countdown, while the likes of Gang Of Youths, Lorde and Methyl Ethel are also likely to secure spots in the top 10.

We already know there will be 65 Australian songs in this year’s countdown, which is one less than last year’s record-breaking total of 66. We also know 26 acts will be making their Hottest 100 debuts this year, up from 23 last year.

There will be songs from 10 different countries, while five songs in the countdown will be tracks which were first discovered on triple j Unearthed. Eight artists are also going to be appearing in a Hottest 100 for the third time this year.

Flume took out the Hottest 100 of 2016 with his song ‘Never Be Like You’, and since then triple j has decided to no longer hold its annual countdown on 26th January, which is associated with Invasion Day for Indigenous Australians.

So, without further ado, sit back, relax and enjoy some of the sickest tunas 2017 had to offer as we update the countdown results in real time down below.
