Triple J’s The Doctor Is Fucking Off

Longtime triple j presenter Lindsay ‘The Doctor’ McDougall has announced he will be ending his time at the station, effective this December. After 10 years with the station, The Doctor made the announcement via a cheeky song titled I’m Fucking Off!.

The Doctor joined the station in 2005 alongside Frenzal Rhomb bandmate Jay Whalley and since then has clocked up 2,200 radio shows, with over 6,100 hours on air. “I’m fucking off. I’m not selling out to Nova, Triple M or Fox,” explained the Doctor through the glorious medium of song. “I just want to sit down and drink some beer, maybe spend some time on my musical career.”

In his time on air, he’s also delivered many a live radio show from festivals like the One Night Stand, Soundwave, Big Day Out, Parklife and Splendour In The Grass, guested on 17 guitar spots, with artists like Something For Kate, Kingswood, Ball Park Music, Sticky Fingers and NOFX and achieved 1 number one charity single with Christmas Number One.

On Thursday 11th December triple j will throw a big send off for The Doctor with details soon to be announced. The station say they will also announce The Doctor’s successor as host of the Drive show in early December.
