There’s good news for Aussie ravers still salivating over the international dance festival colossus that is Ultra Music, with a brand new Asian date added pretty close to home.
As well as the flagship festival in Miami, which lines up three days stacked with a who’s who of the international dance world, the 2015 instalment will also debut two brand new festivals in Asia – one in Macau, and one in Bali.
It’s not quite as exciting as last year’s announcement, which saw Ultra visit Australian shores for the very first time, but it does mean scatheads who just blew all of their savings at Future might not need to take out a personal loan to afford tickets to this year’s Ultra Music Festival, with the Bali date making for substantially more hip-pocket-friendly airfares.
What may dissuade some punters is Indonesia’s tough anti-drug laws, given that two Australians are currently awaiting execution on an Indonesian prison island for attempting to smuggle heroin out of Bali in 2005.
Ultra Bali will take over the island’s famous Potato Head Beach Club and W Hotel on Friday, 25th September, while its single-stage festival offshoot, ‘Road to Ultra’ will debut in the Chinese Special Administrative Region of Macau on Saturday, 13th June.
And if you don’t fancy either of those dates, then ‘Road to Ultra’ will also be returning to Thailand on Friday, 12th June.
