UNIFY Gathering Announces New Ticket Resale Initiative To Clamp Down On Scalpers

With tickets to Victoria’s UNIFY Gathering 2018 now sold out, festival organisers have announced a new initiative which they hope will stop scalpers from reselling tickets for more than they’re worth.

Organisers have revealed that they’re teaming up with fan-to-fan ticket resale platform Twickets, which launched in Australia earlier this year.

“For those unaware with what Twickets is, it is a fan-to-fan ticket resale platform where the price of tickets is never more than the original face value,” organisers say.

“It was set up to counter the profiteering resale sites which encourage ticket scalping.”

UNIFY has partnered with Twickets to help ticket-holders who no longer want their tickets to sell them to other fans, for no more than their original price.

“On Friday [8th September] we will launch our Twickets site so everyone can re-sell tickets the right way,” organisers say.

“If you can no longer attend UNIFY 2018, please DO NOT adhere to the notion of scalping as we may simply void the ticket if we see people sell them for expensive prices.

“If you do miss out on a ticket, do not pay exuberant prices for a re-sale.”

UNIFY Gathering announced its 2018 lineup last week, topped by the likes of Parkway Drive, The Amity Affliction and Architects. The festival is set to take place in Gippsland in January.
