The Bluesfest office has today responded to its much-anticipated first artist announcement being leaked early.

In what is already being called the festival announcement of the year – media broke the announcement embargo and leaked Bluesfest’s first artist announcement one day early!

This has caused a media frenzy with radio and e-media ALL scrambling to catch up with the announcement and also report on, or post, its details. Stories also abound of the Bluesfest office having their phones jammed with inquiries all day and not being ready as the official announcement was due one day later.

At this time (afternoon of November 3rd), the Bluesfest official web site is not yet updated – and early bird tickets are still on sale. They are not due to rollover to full price tickets until Thursday November 4.

The artist management representatives of several headliners are reported to be asking what exactly happened, and meanwhile festival director Peter Noble is reported as being “furious” about the leak in today’s special e-blast from The Music Network.

The Bluesfest web site will be updated with full first artist announcement details and full price tickets tomorrow – on November 4, 2010.
