Vika & Linda will perform pop-up gigs in Melbourne today (23rd December). The time and location of performances will be revealed on the band’s social media approximately one hour prior to them taking place, so head over to their Instagram or Facebook to stay up to date.
The performance is part of a series of secret live music pop-up gigs taking place throughout Melbourne’s streets this month. Last week, the series included gigs from Tones and I, Budjerah and Pierce Brothers, while Amy Shark and Tash Sultana performed their own pop-up shows yesterday.
The series, presented as part of the Victorian Government’s On the Road Again live music program, is set to continue into February. “Tones and I, Vika and Linda Bull and other incredible Victorian artists are bringing the buzz to city streets this summer,” commented Minister for Creative Industries Danny Pearson when the project was revealed.
Earlier this year, Vika & Linda returned with The Wait, their first album of original music in almost 20 years, following on from 2002’s Love Is Mighty Close.
“It took us three times to make this record, it kept getting delayed,” Linda commented in a statement upon the album’s announcement. “And we’ve been waiting 19 years to make this record … Waiting for more songs. Waiting for the right opportunity.”
