Arcade Fire surprised their fans with a special guest at their London show, bringing out Florence + The Machine.
They performed her track ‘Dog Days Are Over’ together with Florence taking to Twitter after to explain the influence the band had on her.
“When I was writing this song, I would go to Isa’s studio after art school, (cycling up Crystal Palace hill which takes some dedication) I had been listening to an album called ‘Funeral’,” she said.
“And I wanted to at least try and make something that could be in any way as beautiful. I don’t know if I succeeded, but to play it with them last night was a dream come true.”
She further said that the band, “changed the way I wanted to make music.”
Both acts are now festival headliners in their own right, responsible for some of the most rousing live shows around.
Florence returned on Friday with a new song ‘Sky Full Of Song’ while Arcade Fire released their fifth album Everything Now last year.
It’s been a while since both acts toured Australia so maybe they could come together.
