Tasmanian singer song-writer Asta and Adelaide rapper Allday have graced triple j‘s Like A Version segment with a slowed-down cover of the Whitney Houston classic, I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me).
Asta and Allday’s cover of the late singer’s 1987 hit single (below) saw the original slowed down, paired with some relaxed guitar and keyboard work, and topped by some verses from Allday. Asta took up Houston’s vocal duties, and pulled off those tricky Houston melodies.
Asta and Allday also took time out to perform Asta’s recent single, Dynamite, live in the triple j studios. The song features a guest spot from Allday.
