Taylor Swift is once again dominating the music world a week on from the surprise release of her eighth studio album folklore, and now Academy Award winner Brie Larson is having a crack at putting her spin on the opening track.
Taking to Twitter earlier today, Larson posted a video of her playing her guitar and singing ‘The 1’, which opens folklore.
“This cover of “the 1” by @taylorswift13 is dedicated to my forever Swiftie friend, Jessie,” she captioned the video.
The album, which features production and songwriting credits from Jack Antonoff, Bon Iver and The National’s Aaron Dessner, unsurprisingly smashed a whole bunch of first day streaming records.
She sold 1.3 million copies of the album in the first 24 hours of release, while also setting multiple new streaming records across Spotify and Apple Music.
This isn’t Brie Larson’s first foray into music either. Last year, she had a crack at a 2014 Ariana Grande deep cut and absolutely nailed it.
