Kendrick Lamar has unveiled the fifth video to come from To Pimp A Butterfly and it’s an eight minute epic for the track These Walls.
Billed as “a black comedy,” it’s narrated by comedian Corey Holcomb and follows the story of a night Holcomb spent with Lamar at a party which landed him in prison.
Somehow, this leads to a scene where Lamar dances side-by-side with Terry Crew to iHeart Memphis’ Hit The Quan Dance during a talent show. Lamar looks incredibly perky during the show but Crews dances with dangerous aggression.
It’s a remarkably different Crews to the smiling man we saw belting out Vanessa Carlton’s 1000 Miles in the movie White Chicks but it’s hilarious all the same.
The video was directed by Colin Tilley, who’s worked on videos for Justin Bieber, Nicki Minaj and Chris Brown, and while it’s a slightly confusing story line to follow we’re told that it’s “to be continued…”
Lamar has been announced as a headliner of Bluesfest and will hit Australia in March for the festival as well as a number of headline dates.
