Soul pop goddess King Princess has made her triple j Like A Version debut, covering a classic by The White Stripes and knocking out a tune of her own.
Hailing all the way from LA, King Princess showed off her vocal prowess with a rendition of The White Stripes’ 2002 White Blood Cells track ‘Fell In Love With A Girl’.
The cover stayed pretty true to the original with some ripping guitars and erratic energy, like a short-but-sweet punch to the face.
While in the triple j studios, King Princess also showed off her debut single/absolute tune ‘1950’, showcasing her multi-instrumental talent (with a little help) off the back of her debut EP Make My Bed.
The pop (well, King) princess will embark on her debut Australian headline tour next month, with shows in Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney.
